Georgy Filimonov joined the State Council of the Russian Federation.

The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The President included the acting governors of nine Russian regions in the State Council, Acting Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov among them.
The State Council of the Russian Federation is a constitutional state body formed by the President of the Russian Federation.
The members of the State Council take part in drafting strategic goals and tasks of domestic and foreign policy and shaping state policy on socioeconomic development of the Russian Federation, its constituent entities and municipalities.
The State Council includes the Chairman and members of the State Council. State Council Chairman is Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
Members of the State Council include: the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, senior officials of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
