05.11.2014 14:17

Top leadership of Vologda Oblast Government, City Hall of Cherepovets City and Severstal, one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and steel related mining companies signed an agreement on cooperation in tourism and opening the first Russian museum of metallurgical production.
Under public-private partnership, Severstal will take part in an investment project "Tourism and recreation cluster".
The creation of the Museum of metallurgical industry will help solve several tasks - preservation of materials pertaining to the history of the development of metallurgy in the Russian North and the history of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant, creation of a positive cultural image of Cherepovets on the territory of the Russian Federation and Europe and increase of the flow of tourists.
The Museum of metallurgical industry will be designed using modern techniques and technologies. Special attention should be paid to moving objects and interactive exhibitions.
The exposition is divided into several zones. Seven thematic exhibition halls, each of them with interactive elements will allow visitors to become metallurgists for some time, to produce iron ore or smelting steel. The first Russian metallurgical museum will cover the territory of 1400 square meters.
