Direct Line-2022 with Vologda Region Governor Mr. Kuvshinnikov

On September 20th Oleg Kuvshinnikov held an annual live question-and-answer session during which he responded to questions from citizens of the Vologda Region.
The Direct Line with Oleg Kuvshinnikov was broadcast live by Channel Russia-24, Ryssky Sever Channel in Vologda, 12 TV Channel in Cherepovets, Vologda Oblast official website www.vologda-oblast.ru and governor’s website www.okuvshinnikov.ru.
Especially popular in the course of the discussion were questions about education, health care system, construction and repair of roads and bridges, public utilities, gasification and lighting, communal and housing issues.
There were also questions about cellular network, road construction and repair work, construction of schools in the Vologda Region, gasification in municipal districts, launch of an airport in Veliky Ustyug and economic development of the region.
Representatives of the local government departments, heads of districts and cities also joined the live question-and-answer session. Thus, some of the issues raised were solved right during the broadcast.
According to Oleg Kuvshinnikov, thanks to effective risk management efforts, the Vologda Region has coped with most economic problems. In particular, measures were introduced to support industrial enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, forestry, agricultural and IT industries, support was provided in the labor market and employment of the population.
“The Vologda Oblast is an export-oriented region. Metallurgy and the timber industry of the region have been hit hardest by western sanctions imposed against Russia. The metal industry is now successfully reorienting from exports to the domestic market. The situation in the industry is stable, there are no staff cuts and radical reductions in production volumes. Timber industry enterprises are now shipping products even to Asian countries,” said Mr. Kuvshinnikov.
Despite the difficult economic situation, the Vologda Region will continue to build and repair educational, sports, culture, medicine facilities, renovate courtyards and public spaces.
During the live broadcast that lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, the Vologda Oblast Governor answered over a few dozen questions out of the over 1,500 that were received.
