The International Museum Day is celebrated worldwide each year on or around 18 May. Museums are true treasures of cultural, historical and scientific significance.
The International Museum Day represents a unique moment for the international museum community. It is a day for high appreciation of the role you play in the life of society, collecting, preserving and popularizing the spiritual and material riches of our history.
Museum employees play a key role in introducing Vologda's residents to the history of their native land, patriotic education of young people, and preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War.
I would like to express my gratitude to all museum employees for their enthusiasm, inexhaustible energy and contribution to preserving the unique cultural heritage of the Russian North.
