Combat Veterans Day will be celebrated in Vologda Region on July 1.

The law on the establishment of a new commemorative date was adopted today at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Vologda Region.
Combat Veterans Day will be observed annually on July 1, for honoring military veterans of the Russian Federation.
"At the moment, more than 12,000 residents of the Vologda Region are veterans of military operations. The military servants had the outstanding accomplishments in their service and received state awards. The legislative consolidation of the Day of Combat Veterans will emphasize the importance of their merits and the importance of developing the veteran movement in the region," said Georgy Filimonov, Acting Governor of the Vologda Region.
