At SPIEF 2024, Vologda Region signed contracts worth 150 billion rubles.

"Two days of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum were very successful for the Vologda Region. We have signed more than 30 agreements with a total investment of about 150 billion rubles, which is an absolute record for the region's participation in the forum. As a result of the implementation of these projects, at least a thousand new jobs will be created and more than 9 billion rubles of additional tax deductions will be provided to the regional budget annually," noted Georgy Filimonov.

The most expensive project is  the construction of a workshop for the production of iron ore pellets on the territory of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Combine (CherMK, a key asset of Severstal). On June 7, 2024 Acting Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severstal Alexey Mordashov and Mayor of Cherepovets Vadim Germanov signed a special investment contract. The complex with a cost of about 96 billion rubles will be implemented in compliance with environmental standards and using the best available technologies. The new production will reduce the negative impact on the environment, increase the efficiency of the enterprise and create new jobs.

Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), an agreement was signed between the Vologda Region and JSC Apatit (PhosAgro Group). In 2024 PhosAgro will invest about 26 billion rubles into production, the social sphere, tourism and the creation of a comfortable urban environment in the Vologda Region.

OOO Rusagroobedinenie plans to implement investment projects in the Vologda Region in the amount of about 3.9 billion rubles. The funds will be used for the introduction of modern production technologies, the construction of a new industrial poultry complex for the production of quail eggs and the implementation of a project for the processing of poultry waste.

Another investor, Basalt Agro, will allocate about 3 billion rubles for the development of the dairy industry in the Vologda Region. Acting Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov and Director General of Basalt Agro LLC Anton Nochyovka signed an agreement on cooperation. As a result, 73 new jobs will be created and dairy production will be increased by 4 times. In particular, the company plans to invest in the creation of a new dairy farm, the reconstruction of the Sukhonsky Dairy Plant and the modernization of production facilities of JSC Severnoye Moloko.

This year the Vologda Region presented its own stand the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum for the first time ever. The stand concept was based on the identity of the Vologda Region, its culture and traditions. Under the slogan "Place of power of the Russian world", the region presented the main achievements of the region in the agro-industrial and forestry complexes, and its tourism opportunities.
