National Flag Day will be celebrated in Vologda on August 22.
Russia adopted its first national flag more than three hundred years ago. August 22 commemorates raising of the present flag over the Russian Supreme Soviet building after a 1991 coup attempt.
The folklore festival has been held in the Vologda Region since 2014. It unites the best amateur groups, craftsmen, researchers in the field of traditional folk culture.
On August 17, we celebrate the 85th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian composer of XX century, People's Artist of the RSFSR and laureate of the USSR State Prize Valery Gavrilin. On this occasion, the Vologda Region will host many events - memorial evenings, contests, lessons and concert programs dedicated to our famous countryman.
