From December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026 the number of people in Kirillov increased significantly. The town with a population of 8,021 people doubled in size. During the winter holidays, about 17,000 guests visited the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Preserve,  a major Russian cultural heritage site.

Residents of Yaroslavl, Kirov, Kostroma, Arkhangelsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Leningrad regions, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and the Komi Republic plunged into the winter fairy tale in the Vologda Region," said Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region.
