On 13 August church bells sang out in unison in the old Russian town of Tot'ma, located about 500 miles northeast of Moscow (Vologda Region, Russia) and Fort Ross (USA).

Vologda-born athletes Andrey Zaytsev and Anna Kuzminskaya won the 2016 WDSF PD Super GrandPrix Latin Stuttgart in Germany.

Only 47 couples entered the WDSF Professional Super Grand Prix Latin and even the star couples had to dance from round one. Vologda’s much acclaimed dances were in the six finalists.

Greek works that highlight Gods and Goddesses from Greek mythology are on display at the Vologda State Museum-Preserve.

On August 11th an exhibition of young painters from Greece started its work at the Vologda State Museum-Preserve. Beautiful paintings of Greek children are displayed in Vologda as part of a cross-cultural year between Greek and Russia “Greece in Russia, Russia in Greece, 2016”.

Blacksmiths from Russia and Finland have arrived in Ustyuzhna (Vologda Region) to take part in the Blacksmith Festival.

The Blacksmith Festival takes place annually in August. The festival is a meeting place for professionals as well as the general public where people of all ages and all walks of life have a good time.

Vologda’s Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov paid a working visit to Vytegra District.

Today Mr. Kuvshinnikov came to the District of Vytegra, the oblast's biggest district in terms of total area, as part of a series of visits throughout the Vologda Oblast examining economic and social development of regions.
