Since the beginning of 2025, 496 tons of wood chip have been exported from the Vologda Region to the Republic of Belarus.

Dairying is probably the best organized branch of Vologda’s agriculture. Dairy farming is the leading industry and dairy cattle breeding is considered the most promising direction of agriculture in the region, which needs to be further developed.

Vologda City is taking part in the competition "Cultural Capital of Russia 2027". The popular vote for the "Cultural Capital 2027" will last until December 5. Almost 85,000 people have already voted for Vologda to become the "Cultural Capital".

The public holiday was established in honour of events of 1612 when Russian voluntary troops commanded by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from foreign invaders. In the church calendar this is Day of Our Lady of Kazan whose icon was the main relic of the voluntary troops. In 2005, the Russian government made November 4th a public holiday.
