Export of wood chip from Vologda Region to Belarus has more than doubled.

Since the beginning of 2025, 496 tons of wood chip have been exported from the Vologda Region to the Republic of Belarus.

In November Vologda Lace Museum marks the 15th anniversary of its foundation.

In 2010 a Museum of Lace opened its doors in Vologda. The Museum’s main exposition is dedicated to the origins and development of the Vologda Region’s traditional craft and global trends in lace-making.

Vologda City is in the final of the "Cultural Capital of 2027" competition.

Vologda City is taking part in the competition "Cultural Capital of Russia 2027". The popular vote for the "Cultural Capital 2027" will last until December 5. Almost 85,000 people have already voted for Vologda to become the "Cultural Capital".

On November 4 Vologda marked National Unity Day.

The public holiday was established in honour of events of 1612 when Russian voluntary troops commanded by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from foreign invaders. In the church calendar this is Day of Our Lady of Kazan whose icon was the main relic of the voluntary troops. In 2005, the Russian government made November 4th a public holiday.
