Department of Timber Complex
Overview
The Ministry of Timber Complex is an executive body which fulfills the functions of state policy realization, state service and management of state property in the sphere of forestry; protection, control and regulation of fauna objects use and their habitat with the exception of aquatic biological resources; environmental protection and environmental management.
Within its competence, the Ministry of Timber Complex performs the following functions:
- forest development, forestry research, forest management;
- provision of multi-purpose, rational, constant, inexhaustible usage of forests to meet public needs in forestry;
- control and supervision in the sphere of forestry;
- state management of usage, protection of forest fund and reproduction of forests.
- management of protection, reproduction of fauna, regulation of fauna;
- management of fishery protection of water objects and bio-resources;
- conservation of biological diversity;
- sustainable utilization of wildlife resources.
- ensuring of control and supervision over observance of demands of legislation on protection and use of fauna objects and their habitat;
- organization and maintenance of state accounting, cadastre and monitoring of fauna objects on the territory of the Vologda Oblast with exception of specially protected nature territories of federal value.
- formulation and implementation of policies that involve the management of the environment, and the prevention and control of pollution;
- supervision of policies and programmes that concern the conservation, use, and replenishment of the Oblast's natural resources;
- management of organization and functioning of specially protected territories of regional value;
- control of environmental protection;
- handling of water resources fund;
- environment research and education;
- air protection management.
