The VIII VOICES film festival introduced the Jury: Russian actress Irina Gorbacheva, French film producer Charles-Evrard Tchekhov, Irish director, producer and screenwriter Johnny O'Reilly. The President of the jury is the Russian director, producer, screenwriter Alexei Fedorchenko.
Aleksey Fedorchenko
Aleksey Fedorchenko is a film director from Yekaterinburg, Russia who won accolades at the Venice Film Festival with the mockumentary First on the Moon (2005) and later with Silent Souls (2010), a magical realist tale about the long-extinct Finnic tribe of Merya. His 2012 film Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari has been selected to be screened in the Vanguard section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
Irina Gorbacheva
Russian actress of cinema and theater. In 2016 she was awarded a Golden Mask nomination for the role of Elena ("A Midsummer Night's Dream"). The owner of the award "Golden Eagle 2017" in the nomination Best Actress ("Arrhythmia"). Irina is also known to the audience for the films "Compensation", "I'm losing weight", "Coach", "The history of one appointment".
Charles-Evrard Tchekhov
Film producer (France). Director of the company "Kinovista", which deals with distribution, including Russian films in France. Among them: Nikita Mikhalkov's "12", Fyodor Bondarchuk's "9th company", Anna Melikyan's "Mermaid", Yury Bykov's "Fool". In 2018, Charles-Evrard produced such major projects as "Plant" by Yuri Bykov and "Leto" by Kirill Serebrennikov, presented in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival.
Johnny O'Reilly
Grew up in Ireland. Studied Russian and Classics and Trinity College, Dublin and graduate film studies at New York University. A fluent Russian speaker. Worked as a journalist in Russia and Ireland before starting out as a filmmaker in 1996. Worked in the Russian film industry from 2006-2009. Splits his time living between Ireland, London and Moscow.
