Severstal Large-Diameter Pipes Used in Olympic Stadium in Egypt

Russian steel giant Severstal has supplied large-diameter pipes for the construction of a stadium in the new capital of Egypt. Large diameter pipes were produced for Orascom Construction PLC. It is a leading global engineering and construction contractor focusing primarily on infrastructure, industrial and high-tech commercial projects in the Middle East, North Africa, USA and the Pacific for public and private clients. The group also develops and invests in infrastructure projects. LDP will be used as supports and vertical braces for the Olympic stadium.
The batch of large-diameter pipes was delivered to the port of Alexandria and then by road to the new capital of Egypt. LDPs were made to order and have a length of up to 18.3 meters. Diameter is from 508 to 1422 mm, wall thickness is from 10 to 28 mm. LDP was produced at the Izhora Pipe Plant (ITZ, part of the Severstal Russian Steel division).
