Greaseproof paper and sack paper production

Sokolskiy Pulp and Paper Mill is one of the oldest pulp and paper mills in Russia. It was commissioned in December 1899. The mill is located in Vologda Region and makes 25,000 tonnes a year of sack paper and greaseproof paper.

Sokol Timber Company is the largest timber processing company in European Russia. It has enough capacity to process 550,000 cubic metres of raw lumber per year. The production facility is located in the town of Sokol in Vologda Region.

Moscow – Mikhail Sterkin, PhosAgro’s Deputy CEO for Sales and Marketing, took part in the international BRICS symposium “Climate and Environment-Smart Agriculture”, which was organized by the BRICS Business Council Working Group on Agribusiness, PhosAgro, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, with technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) Liaison Office with the Russian Federation. Held as a videoconference, the symposium was part of the BRICS Business Council’s events programme for Russia’s BRICS chairmanship year.

Venice – PhosAgro is the general partner for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Summer School on Green Chemistry, which was held this year from 30 June to 5 July 2024 in a hybrid format: at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, Italy, and online. Some 70 young scientists from 22 countries and 25 top instructors from 11 countries took part in the event.

The Vologda Kremlin is the main attraction of Vologda. It was founded in the time of Ivan the Terrible, when in 1565 he proclaimed Vologda the capital of his Oprichnina state. St. Sophia Cathedral, founded in 1568, has been preserved next to the Kremlin. There are three museums inside the Vologda Kremlin, as well as a Bell Tower. You definitely need to climb it to see a wonderful view of the historical center of Vologda.

VOICES is one of the main Russian regional festivals, which has been held in the Vologda region since 2010. The festival focuses on Russian and foreign cinema. The program includes the works of young directors and recognized masters of cinematography.
