World class gypsy jazz guitarist Gonzalo Bergara will come to Vologda.

The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet is to arrive in the Vologda Region to take part in the seventh American Music Festival that will kick off in Vologda and Kirillov on July 15-17, 2016.
The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet (Los Angeles, USA) has been invited by the U.S. Consulate General in St. Petersburg to play at the Festival in the Vologda Oblast. The festival is arranged with an active backing of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve, Kirillo-Belozersk State Museum-Preserve, and the U.S.A. Consulate General in St. Petersburg.
Vologda's music lovers will get a chance to experience the unique sounds of the renowned gypsy jazz artists known as the Gonzalo Bergara Quartet.
Accompanying Bergara in Vologda will be rhythm guitarist Robert O'Rourke, bassist PJ Wyderka, and Leah Zeger, a young violin virtuoso.
The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet introduces the vocal and violin element in the Manouche Music, showing that this is not just a virtuoso guitar playing style. It combines Argentine tango with gypsy music.
On July 15th the festival will be held within the beautiful Vologda Kremlin Courtyard. The next day, the festival will move to Semenkovo Museum of Architecture and Ethnography and the nearby city of Kirillov where another audience will listen to America's jazz bands.
Free concerts, workshops and jam sessions will be offered in Vologda and Kirillov to help introduce American gypsy jazz music to the Russian audience.
