"Winter of the Russian North" project will last till February 28th.

New Year holidays are a time for good traditions. A large-scale project "Winter of the Russian North" was launched on the initiative of Governor Georgy Filimonov. Hundreds events covering different genres and styles of music, crafts and theatre will be held within the framework of the "Winter of the Russian North" project.
The festival will come to each area of the region to offer a wide range of activities in outdoor spaces and in culture and sports institutions.
The region has prepared outdoor stages and indoor venues to hold concerts, master-classes, lectures, sports festivals and other events.
Vologda's residents and guests of the Vologda Region actively participate in cultural and sports festivals, theatre performances, forums, master-classes, fairs, and other holiday events. The "Winter of the Russian North" project started on December 1 and it will last till February 28.
As part of the Winter of the Russian North project, the Vologda Region will host Troika ride competition ( a sleigh pulled by a trio of three horses), a festival "In the snows of Kirillov", a weeklong celebration of Russian culture - Maslenitsa festival, to name but a few.
