"Winter of the Russian North" project ended on February 28.

A large-scale project "Winter of the Russian North" was launched on the initiative of Governor Georgy Filimonov. Hundreds events covering different genres and styles of music, crafts and theatre were held within the framework of the "Winter of the Russian North" project.
The festival came to each area of the region to offer a wide range of activities in outdoor spaces and in culture and sports institutions.
The Vologda Region prepared outdoor stages and indoor venues to hold concerts, master-classes, lectures, sports festivals and other events.
Vologda's residents and guests of the Vologda Region actively participated in cultural and sports festivals, theatre performances, forums, master-classes, fairs, and other holiday events. The "Winter of the Russian North" project started on December 1 and it lasted till February 28.
The "Winter of the Russian North" project included Troika ride competition ( a sleigh pulled by a trio of three horses), a festival "In the snows of Kirillov", Russian Snowmobile and Snow Bike Enduro Championships, an exhibition of ice sculptures, a weeklong celebration of Russian culture - Maslenitsa festival, to name but a few.
