Vologda will host IX International Music Competition named after Valery Gavrilin.

The competition is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda. It will start in Vologda on April 23.
The international competition is organized with an active backing of the Vologda Region Government. The main objective of the event is to reveal new talents and to perpetuate the memory of Valery Gavrilin, a distinguished Russian composer who was born in the northern Russian city of Vologda.
The competition is held in different categories including piano, violin, cello, accordion, academic vocals, domra, balalaika, pop music and musical composition.
The International Music Competition named after Valery Gavrilin offers an extraordinary opportunity for gifted young musicians to develop and advance their talents through participating in competition. It invites local, national, and international students with musical talents to experience and accomplish musical excellence.
