Vologda will celebrate its 872nd birthday with festivals, concerts and fireworks.

Vologda traditionally celebrates its founding during the last weekend in June. This year the city celebrates its 872nd birthday. The city will celebrate its birthday for 3 days from June 27, but the most important events will take place on June 29th.

There will be different events and activities including fairs, street entertainments, sports contests and live music concerts.

Kremlin Square will be the life and soul of the party.

The celebration will culminate in the evening with a firework display (start at midnight). On June 29th shimmering fireworks in the shape of peonies, chrysanthemums and other images will light up the night sky.
