Vologda Region and Republic of India are stepping up cooperation.

A delegation of the Consulate General of the Republic of India in St. Petersburg led by Kalrav Mishra, Consul for Commercial Affairs has arrived in Vologda.
The main purpose of the visit of the Consul for Commercial Affairs is to participate in the International Forestry Forum and Exhibition Russian Forest which is already being held in our region for the 28th time.
In addition to participating in the business program of the forum, the consul held a number of meetings with timber processing companies in the region and visited their production sites.
The relation between India and Vologda are deep, time tested and multi faceted. This has been shown time and again through cooperation in the fields of trade, culture and technology.
“We have long-standing friendly ties with the Republic of India. Of course, we are interested in continuing and developing such cooperation, in further implementing joint projects of mutual interest, and in promoting the products of our manufacturers to the international market," stressed Deputy Governor Inna Sinyagina.
The International Forestry Forum and Exhibition Russian Forest is the largest expert platform where representatives of business and government discuss problems and prospects for the development of forestry and the timber industry in Russia. The events of the forum and the exhibition started in Vologda on December 5 and will last until December 8.
