Vologda Region and Chinese People’s Republic will strengthen cooperation in agribusiness.

Deputy Governor of the Vologda Oblast Alexei Kozhevnikov met with a delegation from Shandong, a coastal province of the People's Republic of China. The meeting took place in the Vologda Oblast Representative Office in RF President's Administration and RF Government. The main objective of it was to define guidelines for cooperation between the Vologda Oblast, Russia and Shandong, China.
Mr. Kozhevnikov presented an economic and investment potential of the Vologda Region and put forward ideas for development of joint projects.
In particular, the parties discussed supply of dairy products to China for production of baby food, launch of joint ventures on the territory of Vologda’s industrial parks, use of biological resources of the Vologda Region for the production of pet feed.
The Chinese People’s Republic remains one of the most active trade partners of the Vologda Region. In 2015 the commodity turnover between the Vologda Oblast and China amounted to US$110 mln.
Chinese companies import goods made of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica, equipment and metal ceramics to the Vologda Oblast. The Vologda Region exports wood and copper articles.
Shandong is the second most populous province and the second largest consumer market in China.
