Vologda Region and Belarus will continue to develop mutually beneficial cooperation.

Prospects for further cooperation between the Vologda Region and the Republic of Belarus will be discussed at the 19th meeting of the joint Commission for the development of cooperation between the Vologda Region Government and the Government of the Republic of Belarus. It is scheduled to be held in February 2023.
Traditionally, cooperation between the Vologda Region and the Republic of Belarus is characterized by an increased amount of trading activity. Mutually beneficial cooperation continues in various areas - ranging from high-tech machine-building products, modernization of agricultural enterprises and forest complex enterprises to the implementation of joint scientific and educational programs and the development of tourism.
The Vologda Region has been sustaining partnership ties with the Republic of Belarus for many years. The Republic of Belarus ranks among the most active CIS trade partners of the Vologda Region.
The Vologda Region has released its 9-month 2022 results, which showed foreign trade turnover was US$ 552.5 mln, an increase of 40%. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals, machinery, salt, fertilizers, stone, wood and wood articles dominate the region's export to Belarus. The imports to the Vologda Region are made up, for the most part, of vehicles, optical instruments, equipment and mechanical devices.
Trade and economic cooperation between the Vologda Region and the Republic of Belarus is based on the interaction of large industrial enterprises of metallurgical, chemical, mechanical engineering, timber industries, and agribusiness.
During the meeting in February, it is planned to summarize the results of work in 2022, determine plans for the near future and sign an updated agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation between the Government of the Vologda Region and the Government of the Republic of Belarus.
