Vologda Oblast is developing partnership ties with the Republic of Armenia.

A delegation from the Vologda Oblast led by First Deputy Governor Alexey Sherlygin arrived in Armenia on an official visit.
The main objective of the visit is to establish friendly and partnership relations between the Vologda Region and Armavir, to define guidelines for collaboration. “The Vologda Oblast Government is eager to develop bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere between the Vologda Oblast and the Republic of Armenia", said Alexey Shelygin.
In the course of the visit, Mr. Sherlygin met with the top leadership of Armenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a Chief of the Russian Trade Representation in Armenia.
He noted that such areas as agriculture, food industry and raw materials for food industry, advanced woodworking and metalworking, and manufacture of building materials and timbered house building can be indicated as priority for future collaboration between the Vologda Oblast and Armenia.
