Vologda is to join an international Museum Selfie Day on January 17.

On January 17, 2024 museum visitors, curators, and managers from all over the world take part in #MuseumSelfie day, a project aimed at raising awareness of the great collections being housed by national and regional museums across the globe.
Started by London blogger Mar Dixon, Museum Selfie Day combines the ancient history of the world with the funny modern trend that is taking selfies.
Museum Selfie Day is the internet event where everyone is invited to snap a selfie at their favourite museum in front of their favourite exhibits and post it.
Stop by the Vologda State Museum-Preserve or Vologda Art Gallery, snap a selfie at your favourite exhibit and post it on January 17. Remember to hashtag #MuseumSelfie!
