From July 3 to 7, 2024 Vologda and Cherepovets will host the VOICES Festival.
The VOICES Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Vologda Region Government and the Vologda City Administration.
"Traditionally, the main part of the festival will be held in Vologda. For us, this is more than a city - it is a source of inspiration, a place of dialogue between residents, tourists and representatives of the cinema”, said Maxim Gorbov, director of the festival.
VOICES will give the opportunity to the people of Vologda and Cherepovets to take part in the festival’s activities and discover cinema by attending daily screenings including a competition program composed of first and second full-length movies.
Diverse activities will be opened to the public such as open-air screenings, exhibitions and musical concerts, not to forget the ceremonies of Opening and Closure.
Since 2010 the VOICES (Vologda Independent Cinema from European Screens) Festival has been held in Vologda, an old Russian city in northwestern Russia. This event is aiming to take an interested look at current cinema, and provides a unique opportunity to discover new talents. The competition includes a selection of first and second full-length fictions. The festival also features master-classes and round-table discussions.
