VI International Gavrilin Festival is to be held in Vologda.

The festival which will last from April 18 through April 20, 2016 is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda. It is a significant cultural event not only for Vologda City but also for Russia as a whole.
The festival is organized by the RF Ministry of Culture with an active backing of the Vologda Oblast Government, and Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Region. The main objective of the event is to reveal new talents and to perpetuate the memory of Valery Gavrilin.
This year musicians from Russian regions, the CIS, from Armenia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Turkey will compete in two nominations - the piano and the violin.
The festival became a major focus of public attention. Its jury members are respected musicians - Professors of the Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Petrozavodsk conservatories and Anatolian University State Conservatory in Turkey.
