Vologda Region gradually lifting coronavirus restrictions
08.09.2020 10:01

The Vologda Region is gradually lifting restrictions linked with the coronavirus pandemic.
Industrial and construction companies resumed work in May. After several weeks under lockdown, non-food shops and many service centres reopened on 14 July. Hotels and sanatoriums also reopened their doors but with strict rules on social distancing, customer numbers and hygiene. The region reopened day care centres for younger children from July 14. Restaurants and cafés, indoor gyms and swimming pools in the Vologda Region started to reopen on 4 August. Hundreds of people have resumed work.
“We continue to work on lifting restrictions, with sanitary and social distancing requirements still in place," the First Deputy Governor said at a meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control.
On 8 September, libraries can reopen in the Vologda Region. They were closed for several months to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. Libraries were open to readers only by prior appointment.
After reopening, all organisations will have to meet the requirements of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor).
As of September 7, the Vologda Region reported 3632 cases of coronavirus. 43 people died.
