Germany opens a visa centre in Vologda.

From now on, Vologda’s residents planning to visit Germany can submit visa applications at a new visa centre in Vologda that was opened on March 13. German Consul General in St. Petersburg Dr Eltje Aderhold arrived in Vologda to open a visa centre. Thus, Germany which is one of the most often visited countries by Russians has become closer to Vologda.
The Vologda Oblast has a huge international potential, and it has a great chance to expand this potential. The Governor of the Vologda Region and the First Deputy Governor actively support these initiatives. The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in St. Petersburg stressed that by simplifying the visa process, we would like to strengthen not only economic exchange, but also scientific, cultural and youth cooperation.
On a visit to Vologda, Dr Eltje Aderhold met with Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov to define guidelines for cooperation between Germany and Vologda.
In February 2017 Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and President of the region Hannover Hauke Jagau signed a protocol of intent. President of the region Hannover Hauke Jagau underlined that it is necessary to develop not only economic ties, but to establish partnership links in cultural and humanitarian areas, and to organize student exchange programs. The talks resulted in the signing of a protocol of intent between the Vologda Region and Hannover. The document was signed by Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and President of the region Hannover Hauke Jagau in the presence of German businessmen, journalists and public figures.
The parties agreed to gradually restore the volume of exports and imports between the two regions. The Vologda Oblast is ready to deliver products of metallurgy, chemistry and woodworking industry to Hannover. And German businessmen will resume supplies of high-tech equipment to the Vologda Region.
