Czech experts are in Vologda on an official visit.

A delegation from the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic led by Deputy Hetman arrived in Vologda to discuss results of the project “Healthy Cities”. The members of the Czech delegation took part in a round-table of the Association of Healthy Cities, Districts and Villages, chaired by Deputy Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Vasiliev.
It is not by chance that the Vologda Oblast is chosen as a venue for the meeting of the Association of Healthy Cities, Districts and Villages. Mr. Kuvshinnikov, Vologda Oblast Governor, heads the Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements. The Russian network of Healthy Cities has been operating since 2010. It is clearly visible that the Russian Association of Healthy Cities is active and rapidly growing.
The Vologda Oblast and the Moravian-Silesian Region shared lessons learned, best practices, and techniques gained from their experiences in this field.
Making people healthier and developing medical science are rightly among government policy’s top priorities. There is an undisputed need for greater cooperation between the authorities, public organisations and business circles in this area. The Association’s programmes and major projects and initiatives carried out in many different parts of Russia help to educate the public, promote a healthy way of life, and improve the demographic situation. The Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements also spreads the use of modern effective diagnosis, prevention and treatment methods in medical practice.
The Moravian-Silesian Region and the Vologda Oblast have been sustaining partnership ties since 2005 in such spheres as culture, economy, tourism, education, small- and medium-sized businesses, fair and exhibition activities, firefighting and rescue service.
In October 2015 a delegation from the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic participated in the events arranged within the framework of a meeting of the Association of Healthy Cities, Districts and Villages, chaired by Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
In April 2016, on a visit to Ostrava, Deputy Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Vasiliev met with Hetman of the Moravian-Silesian Region to discuss guidelines of further cooperation in such spheres as culture, tourism and health-saving technologies.
