Over 61,000 people visited Vologda during New Year and Christmas holidays.

From December 28, 2024 to January 8, 2025 large-scale New Year and Christmas celebrations took place in the cities and towns of the Vologda Region.
Celebrating this wonderful holiday is one of the most heartwarming traditions. It is passed on from generation to generation, bringing people together. 61,654 people visited Vologda during New Year and Christmas holidays.
Compared to the previous year, the number of tourists who came to Vologda on vacation increased by 14.3%.
Vologda has much to offer the discerning visitor. The city has a remarkable place on Russia's tourist map. With a unique cultural and historical heritage, Vologda City, abundant with architectural monuments and arts, has great tourism potential.
Most of the guests came from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Arkhangelsk, Leningrad, Murmansk, Tyumen, Ivanovo, Penza, Kursk, Pskov, Vladimir, Saratov, Smolensk and Vologda regions. The tourists visited local museums and cultural programs. The Vologda State Museum-Reserve, Vologda Lace Museum, House of Vologda Butter, Centre of Handicrafsts and Museum of Childhood were very popular with the tourists.
The celebrations in Vologda included an annual lighting up of the first New Year’s tree in the heart of Vologda, fireworks, live music, master-classes and holiday dishes. Lots of artist groups brought the best of their music and dance to Vologda to create the spirit of Christmas and make the holidays brighter.
