Vologda and Strasbourg strive to extend the cooperation agreement.

Vologda City and Strasbourg have been sustaining partnership ties since 2008. The renewable 3-year framework cooperation agreement between Strasbourg and Vologda was signed on 6 December 2009, by the mayors of the two cities. The aims of the agreement are set out around three main themes:
- Culture and heritage
- Tourism
- Sport, health and social cohesion
Strasbourg attaches considerable importance to cooperation with Vologda, which, over the years, has given rise to a rich variety of exchanges, including students, cultural events, university cooperation and experience-sharing between local authorities.
This week Mayor of Vologda City Yevgeny Shulepov and Mayor of Strasbourg Mr. Roland Ries extended the cooperation agreement. Mr. Shulepov invited the French partners to come to Vologda for New Years’ celebrations. Strasbourg’s friends agreed to come, thus confirming their intention to build a long-standing friendly relationship with Vologda.
