Vologda Oblast is stepping up cooperation with Belarus in production of forest and road equipment.
Prospects for further cooperation between the Vologda Region and the Republic of Belarus were discussed at a meeting of First Deputy Governor Anton Koltsov with top leadership of Belarusian companies.
Traditionally, cooperation between the Vologda Region and the Republic of Belarus is characterized by an increased amount of trading activity. Mutually beneficial cooperation continues in various areas - ranging from high-tech machine-building products, modernization of agricultural enterprises and forest complex enterprises to the implementation of joint scientific and educational programs and the development of humanitarian ties.
Both sides noted that, traditionally, trade and economic cooperation between the Vologda Oblast and the Republic of Belarus is based on the interaction of large industrial enterprises of metallurgical, chemical, mechanical engineering, timber industries, and agribusiness.
Today top leadership of the Vologda Region, Vitaly Vovk, Director General of the Minsk Tractor Works and Vladimir Boglaev, Director General of the Cherepovets Foundry and Mechanical Plant briefed on new areas for cooperation.
Several years ago the machine-building cluster was established at the Cherepovets Foundry and Mechanical Plant (Vologda Region) within the cooperation agreement with Belarus Tractor Plant. It allowed increasing production of tractors. The vehicles are supplied to enterprises of agricultural, forestry and municipal sectors.
The Belarusian partners would like to step up cooperation in production of forestry equipment and special equipment for various purposes, as well as individual models of mounted and trailed equipment. To implement these projects, it will be necessary to expand the production site of the Cherepovets Foundry and Mechanical Plant, develop foundry and welding workshops, and install necessary technological equipment.
