Kirillov is in top three Russia’s most popular small cities.

Kirillov is in the list of Russia's small cities that will be most popular destinations for summer vacationing, according to a study conducted by TourStat agency.
The study, which searched for the most popular and affordable options for tourists, compiled its results based on the number of hotel reservations for summer 2017.
The top ten of the rating includes such Russian most popular cities as Bolgar (Republic of Tatarstan), Plyos (Ivanovo Region), Kirillov (Vologda Region), Myshkin (Yaroslavl Region), Ves’yegonsk (Tver Region), Teberda (Karachaevo-Cherkesia), Zadonsk (Lipetsk Region), Pravdinsk (Kaliningrad Region), Verkhneuralsk (Chelyabinsk Region) and Solvychegodsk (Arkhangels Region).
Kirillov has much to offer the discerning visitor. The city appeared as a settlement attached to the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery founded in 1397 and called after the name of monk Cyril Belozersky. The majestic architectural ensemble of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery is one of the largest in Russia. Numerous lakes, islands, steep slopes of lake basins, covered with forest, forest lakes – all these in combination with hilly relief make the area wonderful.
