Kirillov is in top five Russia’s most visited cities.

TourStat agency published the list of the most popular Russian cities among tourists in 2017. Resort cities were not taken into account.

Kirillov that is situated in the Vologda Region is in the list of Russia's cities that are most popular destinations according to a study conducted by TourStat agency.

The list includes ten cities whose attractions received the highest ratings from the audience of TourStat agency – Plyos, Suzdal, Bolgar, Myshkin, Kirillov, Gorodets, Sergiev Posad, Kolomna, Uglich and Vyborg.

Kirillov has much to offer the discerning visitor. The city appeared as a settlement attached to the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery founded in 1397 and called after the name of monk Cyril Belozersky. The majestic architectural ensemble of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery is one of the largest in Russia. Numerous lakes, islands, steep slopes of lake basins, covered with forest, forest lakes - all these in combination with hilly relief make the area wonderful.
