IX International Gavrilin Festival will open in Vologda on Oct 19.

The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.
The festival is organized with an active backing of the Vologda Oblast Government and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Oblast. The main objective of the event is to reveal new talents and to perpetuate the memory of Valery Gavrilin.
Musicians from Russian regions will participate in it. It is planned to organize more than 30 performances, concerts, master classes and other festival events in Vologda and Cherepovets during the festival.
IX International Gavrilin Festival will last till November 29. Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists chamber orchestra will finish the music festival with a concert at the Art College, Vologda City.
