Exhibition of Vologda’s laces kicked off in Gomel, Belarus.
12.03.2019 15:31

The exhibition of Vologda’s lace started in Gomel on March 6 and it will last till April, 28.
The exhibition of the Vologda Lace Museum travelled throughout Russia and to many European countries.
The exhibition of Vologda lace in the towns of Belarus will show amazing skills of our women in knitting. Vologda lace is a world famous brand, carefully keeping the ancient traditions of hand-made lace. Like a few centuries ago, it represents the glory of Russian lace, its impeccable quality and style.
Vologda has always been one of the main centres of Russian lace tatting, and in the 19th century it became the most famous one. It was that time when lace-makers began to tat lace patterns in the form of wonderful stars and snowflakes. Vologda lace reminds of hoarfrost on winter glass, which will disappear under the first rays of the March sun. It looks like a thin spider line, which will be torn by a waft of wind.
Elegant panels, napkins and tablecloths made of both bone-lace and hook lace and finest hand-made dresses, light pelerines, cardigans and scarves will be on display in Belarus.
