Cooperation between Vologda and Almaty regions was discussed in St. Petersburg.

A working meeting between head of the Vologda Region Representative Office Yuri Lilein and Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg Dmitry Mikhno took place in St. Petersburg on Oct 10.
The main topic of the meeting was the strengthening of trade, economic and cultural ties between the Vologda Region and the regions of Kazakhstan, in particular, the Almaty Region.
The participants discussed preparations for the signing of an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural cooperation between the Vologda and Almaty Regions. The draft document was worked out by the Vologda Region Government and submitted to the Kazakh side.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the assistance of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in organizing the signing of the agreement. The document might be signed during XXI Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in Uralsk that will take place this autumn or at the International Forest Forum and Exhibition, which will be held in Vologda on December 3-5, 2025.
Dmitry Mikhno, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg, said that he plans to attend the International Forest Forum and Exhibition “Russian Forest” in Vologda.
