About 55,000 people visited Vologda during New Year and Christmas holidays.

From December 30, 2023 to January 8, 2024 large-scale New Year and Christmas celebrations took place in Vologda City.
Celebrating this wonderful holiday is one of the most heartwarming traditions. It is passed on from generation to generation, bringing people together. About 55,000 people visited Vologda during New Year and Christmas holidays (that is 1,5% more than last year).
Vologda has much to offer the discerning visitor. The city has a remarkable place on Russia's tourist map. With a unique cultural and historical heritage, Vologda City, abundant with architectural monuments and arts, has great tourism potential.
Most of the guests came from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Arkhangelsk, Vorkuta and Vologda region. About 40,000 tourists visited local museums and cultural programs. The Vologda State Museum-Reserve was very popular with the tourists.
New Year celebrations in Vologda included an annual lighting up of the first New Year’s tree in the heart of Vologda, live music, master-classes and holiday dishes. Lots of artist groups brought the best of their music and dance to Vologda to create the spirit of Christmas and make the holidays brighter.
