36th FISAE International Ex-libris Congress continues its work in Vologda.

The programme of every day of the Congress is rather intense. From morning to evening ex-libris enthusiasts gather in the Vologda Picture Gallery to present their works and exchange them.
The Congress brought a lot of special books, magazines and collections from around the world, dedicated to the engraving and ex-libris. The collectors, artists, scholars, historians and researchers from 15 countries participate in discussions pertaining to bookplate issues, ex-libris development, scientific description and publication of a bookplate.
On August 26th the participants of the Congress are to decide where to hold the 37th FISAE International Ex-libris Congress. Places negotiating for future congress venues include the Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA.
All the participants note that all in all the Vologda Congress was well organised, the venue was excellent and they were pleased with the warmth and cordiality of their reception. There was a good range of lectures and social activities, such as tours to neighbouring historic sites, concerts of local musicians and dancers. And, as usual, many enthusiastic ex-libris aficionados arrived here.
