Powers and Duties

Sergei Sorokin, First Deputy Governor coordinates the work of the executive bodies and local government divisions and issues instructions in the following areas: policy with regard to legal regulation.

Sergei Sorokin has the right to apply to the courts representing the interests of the Vologda Region Governor and Vologda Region Government. He coordinates the activities of representing the interests of the region at courts and implementation of measures to ensure and protect human and civil rights and freedoms in the territory of the region.

Mr. Sorokin coordinates the work in the following areas:

legal support of relations between the Governor of the region, the Government of the region with federal executive authorities and their territorial bodies, the Legislative Assembly of the region, the Chamber of Control and Accounts of the region on issues related to the competence of the executive bodies of the region;

representation in the courts of the interests of the region by the executive bodies of the region;

verification of the compliance of municipal regulatory legal acts with federal and regional legislation and the organization of the register of municipal regulatory legal acts;

implementation of measures to ensure and protect human and civil rights and freedoms in the region;

ensuring a unified legal space on the territory of the region;

development of legal literacy and legal awareness of citizens.
