One of the key goals of the new academic year for the Vologda Region is to join WorldSkills International movement.
In 2014 the Vologda Oblast will host the regional stage of the world championship. It will give a great boost to the region’s professional education development, whilst international championship may be a stimulus for the whole country.
WorldSkills International (WSI) is a not for profit membership association open to agencies or bodies which have a responsibility for promoting vocational education and training in their respective countries/regions.
Russia joined WorldSkills International movement two years ago on May 17, 2012. Today WorldSkills movement has significant achievements in development of world class standards in Russia. Through international competitions held every two years, WSI attempts to raise awareness to the opportunities that exist in skilled professions with the intent of encouraging youth and their parents and teachers to explore career opportunities in skilled trades and technology.
