Vologda Oblast Government signed a cooperation treaty with Barlinek SA, Poland.

Vologda Oblast Governor and Chairman of the Management Board of Barlinek SA, Poland-based company engaged in wooden flooring production, signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the International Investment Forum Sochi-2015.

Barlinek's main product is floorboard, three-layered flooring made of the local wood species, as well as exotic wood with the glueless barclick installation system. The company also manufactures classic parquets and mosaic parquets in addition to solid wood floors, veneer boards, flooring for sport facilities, as well as wood pellet fuel. The Company operates subsidiaries based in Poland, Ukraine, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Norway, Denmark, the Russian Federation and Romania.

According to the agreement signed, about EUR 80 mln will be invested to construct a plywood-producing plant in Cherepovets District, Vologda Oblast.

The proposed project aims to achieve the successful development of a plywood and floorboard manufacturing facility. The plant will have a maximum capacity of 100,000 cubic meters of plywood a year, 2 mln square meters of floorboard and 30,000 cubic meters of wood pellets. It will employ about 500 people.

Now the company and the local government will be searching for a logging area for the project, and negotiating with large procurement enterprises of the region for long-term contracts for raw materials supply.
