Vologda is among top 10 Russian cities for summer tourism.

The Travel.ru portal published a rating of the best Russian cities for travel in the summer.

The city of Vologda appeared in the first ten the most demanded cities for visit in the summer. Other Russian cities that a magnet for tourists are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Sevastopol, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.

The rating is made on the figures of hotel reservation from June 1 to August 31, 2015 by those tourists who are travelling on their own and without any involvement of travel agencies.

Last year the ancient Russian city of Vologda took the 7th place in the ranking of Russian cities for travel with kids. The rating was also based on the data provided by the Travel.ru portal. It included Russia's most popular cities for a family holiday.
