Trade, economic, tourism and cultural potential of the Vologda Region was presented in the People's Republic of China for the first time ever. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China.

The agreements were signed within the framework of the Days of the Vologda Region in China.

The geography of international supplies of Vologda’s agricultural products is expanding. The output of the food and processing industry has increased since the beginning of 2024, which has a positive effect on the dynamics of regional exports. The region is more than self-sufficient in nearly all major products.

Representatives of the Vologda Region Government and business circles of the region made presentations as part of the Days of the Vologda Region in China.

In April 2024, a Memorandum on friendly relations and cooperation was signed between the Government of the Vologda Region and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province. On a return visit, a delegation from the region, consisting of members of the Vologda Region Government and representatives of 18 leading companies, arrived in Xi'an.

Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov took part in the signing of agreements between business representatives of the Vologda Region and the People's Republic of China during the Days of the Vologda Region in China.

"There are about 2,500 cultural and historical heritage sites in the region, 189 specially protected natural areas, over 330 tourist routes have been created. However, the enormous tourist potential of the Vologda Region has yet to be revealed. We are open to cooperation with the leaders of the Chinese tourism industry and are ready to offer joint projects to attract tourists to the Vologda Region," said Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region.

Representatives of the Vologda Region Government delegation made presentations at the plenary session of the forum "Days of the Vologda Oblast in China".

"The Vologda Oblast is a region of opportunities for business, tourism and industrial growth. The region is the first in Europe in the production of phosphorus fertilizers, and every fourth wooden house in the country comes from Vologda’s factories," said Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region. The annual volume of industrial production is more than $15 billion.

Vologda Region Governor Gergy Filimonov told the guests of the Days of the Vologda Region in China about the development of science and education in the region.
