At the opening of the “Severstal for the Automotive Industry: Quality, Competences and Customer Focus” automotive conference in Turkey, Sergey Toropov, CEO of the Severstal Russian Steel Division, announced the launch of Russia’s first welded component production line for automakers.
The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.

The city's mega-museum was founded with a donation from Ante "Mimara" Topic and opened to the public in 1987. It is located in a neo-Renaissance palace from the end of the 19th century. The holdings comprise 3,750 works of art of various techniques and materials, and different cultures and civilizations. On display there are sculptures, paintings, crafts and much more.

International Swedish-Russian seminar was arranged in the Vologda Oblast Court. Participating in the seminar were Mrs. Veronika Bard Bringeus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in Russia, Tatyana Shanina, Deputy of the Director General of the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, along with judges from around Russia’s North-West and Sweden.
