Georgy Filimonov invites Belarusian business to invest in Vologda Region's economy.

Georgy Filimonov, Vologda Region Governor, spoke at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum about the region's relations with the Republic of Belarus and called on Belarusian entrepreneurs to cooperate more actively with our region.
St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is one of the biggest and most important business events in the world.
SPIEF has been held annually since 1997. Since 2006, it has been held under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation.
Mr. Filimonov noted that according to the results of last year, Belarus ranks first in foreign trade turnover with the Vologda Region. The export of Vologda’s products to the Republic of Belarus reached USD 450 mln. The import of Belarusian goods to the Vologda Region amounted to USD 316 mln.
A joint Russian-Belarusian enterprise, the Cherepovets Foundry and Mechanical Plant, is located in Cherepovets. It produces 1,700 BELARUS tractors.
Vologda’s farmers purchased 130 units of Belarusian agricultural machinery. 17 modern fire tankers manufactured by Pozhsnab company (Belarus) were purchased by the Vologda Region.
There is also a close tourist and cultural exchange between the Vologda Region and Belarus.
“This year, we are organizing the Vologda Region Days in the Republic of Belarus in order to present the trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism potential of the Vologda Region," said Georgy Filimonov. - Nevertheless, we need to move from trading operations to the creation of joint ventures. We are working on the issue of organizing a new investment project in the Vologda Region for the production of fire trucks using Belarusian technologies. We have launched a special industrial economic zone in the Vologda Region, we invite Belarusian investors to locate their companies there."
The Governor drew attention to the preferential tax regime that operates on the territory of the special economic zone and the convenient logistical location of the Vologda Region. All this gives investors significant advantages for business development.
