Georgy Filimonov: China might become  Vologda's  leading trading partner.

Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov and Plenipotentiary Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Zhang Wei discussed guidelines for economic cooperation between the Vologda Region and China. The meeting took place within the framework of the opening of the Vologda branch of the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship.

"Now China takes the second place in the Vologda Region's foreign trade turnover. The potential of our bilateral ties has not been fully explored. There is a lot of teamwork to be done. I am speaking about China's economic diversity and cooperation with enterprises of the Vologda Region," said Georgy Filimonov.

Mr. Filimonov also noted that the export of Vologda-made products is at the heart of a comprehensive and integral Russian-Chinese partnership. We are talking about cooperation in all production sectors: agriculture, chemical, metallurgical and timber industries.

"Russia and China have emerged as the two principal anchors and indispensable locomotive forces  in the 21st century. The fate of humanity depends on you and me, on our leaders, on our states and peoples. This is a huge responsibility, and we will continue to help our leaders at our level," added Georgy Filimonov.
