During the New Year holidays, exhibitions, performances, concerts, interactive programs and workshops for children and adults were held in the region. All of them were included in the Governor's project "Winter of the Russian North".

During New Year and Christmas holidays over 36,000 tourists visited the official residence of Ded Moroz located in Veliky Ustyug (about 450 km northeast of Vologda, the capital of the Vologda Region).

According to the preliminary results of 2024, 1 million 276 thousand cubic meters of timber harvested by Vologda's enterprises were exported to foreign countries.

From December 28, 2024 to January 8, 2025 large-scale New Year and Christmas celebrations took place in the cities and towns of the Vologda Region.

In 2024, the Ded Moroz Train set off for a New Year journey on November 19. The train stopped at Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Chita, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Moscow and St. Petersburg and other cities.
