The District of Kadui is situated in the south-west of the Vologda Region. It has a very advantageous location, as it is situated at the intersection of highways and railroads. One of the major transportation routes connecting Central Russia and the Urals passes through the settlement of Kadui. Kadui is 18 km off the federal highway "Vologda-Novaya Ladoga" that links St.Petersburg with Veliky Ustyug, the hometown of Father Frost, and 56 km from Cherepovets, a big railway junction.
