Ensemble Russian North

The Ensemble of Folk Music and Dance "Russian North" was founded in 2010. Russian National Theatre "Severstal" (created in 1993) and the State Ensemble of Folk Music, Song and Dance "Russian North" (set up in 1990) formed the basis of it. The song and dance ensemble "Russian North" united highly professional musicians, dancers and singers. The ensemble carefully preserves, develops and popularizes the folklore heritage and folk traditions of the Vologda Region. Folk songs, dances and rituals of the northern region of Russia are an invariable component of the ensemble's concert programs.

The performances of the Ensemble "Russian North" are often shown at the opening ceremonies of different festivals and city fairs. Every year the ensemble performs on tours throughout Russia and abroad (USA, Australia, Venezuela, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Brazil and almost all European countries). "Russian North" took part in international festivals in France, Belgium, Austria, Slovakia, Morocco and Argentina. It offers a wonderful taste of Russia, Russian music and dance.
